Beau Crabill’s Amazon FBA course, Online Retail Mastery is coaching program that teaches you how to sell big brands on Amazon.
Working with authorized suppliers that supply to big retail stores like Wal-Mart, Macy’s, Best Buy, Target & Gamestop.
And then begin selling these brands on Amazon by becoming “ungated” or approved by Amazon to sell these big brands.
Many are reporting retail arbitrage & private labeling is much more labor-intensive and simply doesn’t work well these days. Beau Crabill is saying the success rate is 1%.
Retail Arbitrage is also so short term that its really residual income that you can count on month after month.
So from all accounts, selling Big Brands like Beau teaches seems to be the way to go.
For me, I tried all the Amazon FBA business models and I’m just so done with selling products that are fads or trends.
Setting up a brand new product on Amazon is pretty labor intensive and when the money stop trickling in because the fad ends then you’re right back to square one.
Selling big brands were better but ultimately most products don’t stay hot forever.
I’m just glad I had built my multiple 6 figure local lead generation business first so even if I utterly fail at Amazon product or one product stops selling, I’ve already built a strong residual income with free traffic.
Even though I still recommend lead gen as my top pick for online businesses that anyone should start first, If I had to pick between all the different e-Com or Amazon FBA business models, I’m with Beau on that one.
I’d rather be selling big brands.
Instead of always hunting for quick wins but not able to build anything long-term or substantial.
So here’s my review of Beau’s course.

My Thoughts on Beau Crabill’s Coaching
I do like his business model of selling big brands on Amazon versus selling knock-offs brands or retail arbitrage, or private labeling.
Ultimate retail brands are what gets the most sales on Amazon.
Beau’s key tenants to succeed on Amazon is
1. Sell Big Brands
2. Work with authorized suppliers – “most important part, this is the lifeblood of your business”
3. Get Ungated – Be approved by Amazon to sell Brands
What’s cool is dealing with the same suppliers that supply to the big retail stores like Wal-Mart, Macy’s, Gamestop, etc you can now carry quality products that already have established brand loyalty.
Beau keeps his training straight to the point and he adopts the philosophy of simple is better, which I appreciate.
Because there are some super unorganized, way too complex Amazon FBA courses out there.
Even though Beau is young, don’t let his youth fool you. He’s been selling physical products online for over a decade now because his father was an eBay guy.
Beau, himself, has also spent several years selling on eBay well before Amazon FBA became a thing.
So he knows what he’s talking about and from all of his experience, he understands that working with authorized suppliers & selling big brands on Amazon is the way to go.
When you begin going through the course it begins to make a whole lot of sense why you should also sell big brands.
Why I still love the Lead Generation Business Model Over Amazon FBA
Look there’s a lot of things to love about the Amazon FBA business, I mean its probably one of my favorite business models when it comes to selling physical products online.
(besides ranking organically & selling shit with free traffic of course)
Those eCom guru guys that like to flash their cars and show big sales number don’t really tell you just how much work goes into that drop ship business model and how short-lived some of their products are at being able to sell well using Facebook ads because many of them are banking on fads.
so you end up putting in work to get the sales but you’re not able to stack upon your success if the product stops selling.
Sadly this is true even if you decide to sell big brand products.
That’s the nature of the phycisal product business.
Very rarely do products remain hot for a long time.
For example, if you go to Game Stop today and then you go back 6 months later, pretty much many of the products inside that store has been replaced by something new.
Now this opens the door for opportunities for Amazon FBA sellers but it also means that the turn over for the successful products you launch is great.
This brings me to my bullet points of the top reasons why I’ve chosen to focus more on my lead gen business even though I’ve made money with Amazon FBA
- lead gen results are long term and here to stay because people always need local services like plumbing, roofing, etc and its not a fad like some physical products, local services are purchases that come from some major need, not some unpredictable impulsive buying behavior
- my lead gen properties are much more longterm and hands-free, like I have lead gen sites that I built in 2014 that still makes me great money every month and I haven’t touched it since I built it
- You have more control over your organic traffic unlike Amazon which relies heavily on product reviews
- Building your business with Google’s free traffic means you’re building the mean in which you can earn income around the clock 24/7 on auto-pilot
- Its completely digital so no headaches of dealing with physical product which requires more work to maintain sales plus you have significantly slimmer profit margins
- ranking local lead gen site is so much easier than trying to get on Amazon’s front page which are often times completely dominated by products with thousands of reviews for many categories
- get to work with real people, I’ve built amazing relationship with my local business clients over the years
- you get to change other people’s lives, not just sell another thing that other stores are already selling.
I believe there’s a reason why there’s so many Amazon FBA or eCom Drop Shipping coaches out there today.
I’ve heard my good eCom guy talk about this also.
You can experience quite the burn out with eCom because it gets real repetitive and quite labor intensive because physical products will always bring up issues at scale whether that be inventory, supplier, quality, customer service, customer review issue, or Amazon being Nazi’s and suspending your account for no good reason.
All that work for mere 10-20% profit margins can become exhausting after a while.
Don’t get me wrong its 100 times better than working a 9 to 5.
But they’re attracted to making nearly 100% profit margins and ability to scale much greater & faster because that’s just the way it is when you sell digital products or services like courses or lead generation service.
Conclusion
People have been selling physical products since the early eBay days where sellers were storing inventory in their garage.
Amazon FBA launched in 2006 which allowed mom & pa shops to start listing their product on Amazon and they would take care of inventory and shipping for you.
It wasn’t until 2014, when people began to do retail arbitrage and private labeling by utilizing suppliers from overseas, as a result, a lot of knockoffs and low-quality items when up on Amazon.
Many of these accounts have been suspended by Amazon and many of these results were very short lived. Throughout all of this, what’s consistently the biggest money maker on Amazon has been retail brands.
Beau Crabill teaches you the step by step method to start selling these big brands yourself.
Giving hope to the many people that failed with retail arbitrage or private labeling.
If you want to start an Amazon FBA business, you can’t go wrong with Beau’s course.
However, I like building my online business mainly around my skills. Because I can depend on my skills time & time again to reproduce success. Whereas Amazon was more about timing & trends that I gotta hang my hat on.
I adhere to the notion that our income is a direct reflection of how much value you’re bringing to the marketplace.
With my lead generation skill, I’m able to change the lives of these business owners,10x their results.
I also like working with people and making a difference.
Amazon FBA business just doesn’t have that personable touch.
I also think the reason why students doing lead gen have higher success rate because the entire business is much more under your control, whereas with Amazon, a big part of your success is up to your supplier & being able to find the right one.
The one thing I do like about Amazon FBA is that you’re making sales with organic traffic once your listing gets strong unlike the dropshipping eCom model where you gotta rely on Facebook ads traffic for your business which shaves off your profit margin even further.
Building a business with free traffic is the best, most sustainable residual income you can build on the internet.
